Enemy At The Gates Blog
Enemy of the gates is a thriller move but tells a huge tale between 2 men and propaganda. They start off by just being caught in warfare together and then the marksman Vasily has to take fire and get them out of their position when they are surrounded by Germans. Vasily faces off with another marksman that opposes him in the german forces. He is very qualified due to his war Marit cross. The story line shows how People function in war and they don't allow cowards (aka soldiers) to retreat from their lines of duty. Vasily is aided by his companion that gives him a name in the newspaper that is sent back home to their "homeland". This is known as propaganda and give the homeland something to believe in. It gives them spirit and gives them the will to prevail on and have a role model to look up to. They would record Vasily and all the kills he took and ranks to show men what this man is capable of. He ends up falling in love and letting it almost get in the way of his life. I guess somethings are worth fighting for, even if its just not the war but a woman as well.
"Describe the difference between the Feb./March Revolution and the Oct./Nov. Revolutions? Why was the latter successful?"
The Emperor had no choice and was forced to abdicate and the old regime was replaced by a Provisional Government, this all took place in the first Revolution of February 1917 (March in the Gregorian Calendar; the older Julian Calendar was in use in Russia at the time). In the second revolution, during October, the Provisional Government was removed and replaced with a Bolshevik government. The first Revolution revolved just around Petrograd, In this time of great chaos the members of parliament sustained control of Petrograd. The army of Russia felt that they did not have the force to control Russia and was overpowered. This was when they formed the Russian Provisional Government. The Soviets which are as well known as the Workers council are lead by more radical socialist factions, they were the reason the Provisional Government is in power. The soviets also influenced other militias to get them on their side and have other forces as well.
Describe the challenges lenin faced immediately after the russia civil war and the power struggle that existed after Lenin's death. in your opinion, did stalin modernize Russia?"
The people of Russia did not want to do anything with communism. The reason this was an issue is because Stalin was all about communism but no Fascism as hitler was. Everyone in Russia that owned something wanted to keep it. Stalin was wanting to take it away from them. The communists were in the process of taking away all the land, factories etc from their rightful owners. Discipline for workers were extremely strict and if you opposed or strike against them you could be shot. Everyone was fair and you couldn't gain any personal gain. Food and most commodities were rationed and distributed in a centralized way. Obligatory labour duty was enforced upon the "non-working classes".
Opinion
Stalin did modernize society in the sense that he was forceful and forced everyone to work on the same level on basic standards of living. He built the economy up and wasn't stupid about the economy flourishing in the sense that people were dying at his feet and working their bums off for all the same wage and outcome. He was very reckless in the sense that he didn't care about human lives. Hitler was a'lot like in how they developed the economy but Stalin was not Racist.
