"In your opinion, where does the 30 million deaths during the Great Leap Forward rank with other mass casualty events in the 20th century (ie. Hitler and Stalin attrocities)?"
Its still surprises me how they hid the 30million deaths in rural places in China from people that didn't actually know it occurred. The Great Leap Forward was a success in leading the community to strive in their agriculture but to also lead them to losing a lot of Working that calories intake was substantially low then the normal for a high working individual. Hitler did not kill a lot of his supporters in his action to construct the Autobahn which flustered the Economy and brought in a lot of transportations. Stalin genocided Ukrainians in such numbers that it alone rivals the holocaust. He also was very antisemitic himself and ordered many purges directly aimed against jews. Hitler did not kill his own people as much as Mao did and Stalin.
